Naust Marine has delivered the first of a set of winches and control systems for Dutch seine netter/twin-riggers under construction at the Nodosa shipyard in Spain.
The company has completed the electric fly-shooting and trawl winches with control systems for the Neeltje being built at Nodosa for Cornelis de Boer of the Osprey Group as it replaces its older vessels with newbuilds.
The package delivered to Nodosa for installation on Neeltje included a pair of main winches, plus a middle wire winch for twin rigging, as well as twin double net drums and auxiliary winches.
Also included are electrical cabinets with water-cooled drives, winch control panels, a Naust Marine ATW system and Smart View remote access.
According to Naust Marine, Neeltje is one of the first vessels in this class to opt for electric winches instead of a traditional hydraulic system, and the equipment was fully tested on Naust Marine’s test bench, with tests carried out on pull and dynamic performance.
‘Electrical winches are highly suitable for fly-shooting and twin-rigging, with low consumption and have a greater efficiency that hydraulic systems, plus they are practically silent in operation,’ Naust Marine state.
A second package of equipment to the same specification is being prepared for Neeltje’s sister vessel Good Hope, which is being built at Nodosa or Louwe de Boer.
