Norwegian fisheries and aquaculture gear producer Egersund Group has introduced its Eco-Go rope, made from recycled polyamide (PA).
‘In recent years, we have had a clear focus on making our products greener. A good example of this work is the development of our new rope Eco-Go, which has been developed through a project financed by Handelens Miljøfond,’ an Egersund Group representative said, commenting that this is ‘sustainability in practice.’
‘The new Eco-Go marks an important shift for us – from traditional material combinations to a rope that now consists of 100% recyclable PA. By reducing the use of PE and relying on materials that can to a greater extent be recycled, we are taking an important step towards a more sustainable and circular fishing industry.’
The goal is to develop products that combine performance, durability and environmental responsibility, so that the fishing gears of the future are both effective in use and kind to the environment.
‘With Eco-Go we want to show that green innovation in blue industry is not only possible, it is the way forward,’ Egersund’s representative said.
