Acclaimed photographer and ‘Deadliest Catch’ star Corey Arnold is currently working on a lifelong project entitled “Fish-Work” which chronicles the commercial fishing lifestyle throughout the world. Since 2003, he’s been documenting the crab fishery in the Bering Sea.
Most recently he was nominated for the Aperture West Book Prize, the Santa Fe Prize for Photography, and named one of PDN’s 30 in 2009. In 2010, Corey has been commissioned by the PEW charitable trust to photograph the state of the EU fishing industry.
In 2011 Corey will also join the Irish Skipper team for the Expo in the Galway Bay Hotel on the 4th & 5th of March and while in Galway he intends to give a slide show presentation of images from the Bering Sea, Bristol Bay Salmon fishing, and his most recent journeys from Norway to the Italian coast, documenting the lifestyle and the current state of fishing in Europe. He will also have a number of prints on display during the Irish Skipper Expo 2011.
Corey’s images of fishing have been a huge hit across the USA, his work has been featured on the cover of the Juxtapoz photo book, The Paris Review, Esquire, Italian Rolling Stone and Artweek.
