The AIS-2-2000 is the latest in the innovative range of AIS receivers designed and manufactured by AIS specialists Comar Systems.
In keeping with the company’s position as a market leader in AIS, Comar is one of only a few firms producing a NMEA 2000 product which reads and decodes AIS messages into NMEA 2000 format.
Installing the unit on a NMEA 2000 Network on board using the drop cable and NMEA 2000 connector which supplies both data and power connectivity to and from the network couldn’t be simpler. To reduce costs to a minimum, an existing on board VHF Radio Antenna can be used with the already well established Comar ASR 100 VHF splitter, saving the cost of installing a separate VHF antenna.
“With NMEA-2000 quickly becoming more accepted as the way forward in the industry, the timing of this could not be better,” said Peter Cotton MD of Comar Systems. “The unit is very economically priced, simple to install and includes everything you need in one small box and our distributors are telling us we have a success story on our hands.”
Since Comar started in the Automatic Identification System business more than six years ago, AIS has become a must have for all serious yachtsmen and in common with all Comar’s AIS receiver products the AIS-2-2000 has dual parallel receivers enabling it to receive all AIS messages on either channel simultaneously.
