Mustad Autoline’s fitters have been busy. A new system has just been fitted to Greenlandic coastal boat Mille Kuka.
Mustad Autoline’s market in Greenland is managed by the company’s subsidiary in Iceland, with Sigurður Thorleifsson looking after Greelandic customers.
Mille Kuka has a 10,000 hook system with a HandyMag storage facility for magazines, and the longline setup is used to fish for cod and Greenland halibut.
‘The system works well even in -30°. There are no problems with Mustad,’ said Mille Kuka’s owner Anton Egede.
Jens Abelsen, owner of Angaarq II, has been working for some time with with a similar system with a 4-5000 hook capacity
and HandyMag storage magazines. He reports that the boat is more efficient and brings larger and better quality fish to market.
On Mustad’s home market in Norway, a 19,500 hook system has been fitted to new longliner Live Elise, delivered recently to Vesterålen skipper Robert Brun, who reported after the new boat’s second trip that both boat and gear performed well.
‘The boat is fantastic at sea and the equipment has transformed the way we work on board,’ he said.
Live Elise works with a crew of four, and they will be fishing the Vesterålen for the next few months.
