A new Cleopatra 32 has been delivered to Jimmy Hutchinson and his two sons in Whalsay.
The 9.6gt Endeavour LK-11 is the first of its kind, built on a hull design that Icelandic boatbuilder Trefjar designed for the oil industry, and these have been supplied as workboats for many years.
Jimmy Hutchinson expects to operate Endeavour year-round from Whalsay and the boat has already started fishing.
It was supplied fully fitted out with a Doosan L086TIM main engine driving a ZF 286IV reduction gear, and with a 5.50kW Scam/Kubota generator. The package of mainly Furuno electronics includes a MaxSea plotter, and the autopilot is linked to the bow thrusters for improved manoeuvrability at low speeds.
Endeavour’s mackerel fishing gear has been supplied by DNG and Trefjar, and the deck hardware for netting is from Hydema. The amidship fishroom has capacity for twelve 380 litre tubs and the accommodation forward provides bunks for three and a fully-equipped galley and mess area.
