Trefjar has delivered a new autoliner to a customer in north-western Iceland. The 30gt Cleopatra 46B has been completed for Útgerðarfélagið Thórsberg, based in Tálknafjörður.
The new Indriði Kristins BA-751 replaces a Cleopatra 40B delivered by Trefjar in 2015, which in turn replaced an older Cleopatra as Thórsberg’s boats have become progressively larger and more sophisticated. The company is managed by Guðjón Indriðason and Indriði Kristins is skippered by Indriði Guðjónsson and Magnús Guðjónsson.
Indriði Kristins measures 30gt with a 14 metre length. It is powered by an 880hp Doosan 4V222TI main engine driving a ZF 665 V-drive in the aft engine space and the boat also has an 84kW (60kVa) Scam/FPT/Linz genset. It has Wesmar bow and stern thrusters linked to the Comnav Commander autopilot for maintaining a steady line while working along the gear.
The midships fishroom has capacity for 72 x 460 litre tubs. The working deck is fully shelterdecked and has a separate hauler compartment for the line hauler supplied by Mustad, who also supplied the magazines, splitter and baiting setup on the main deck. The dahn line hauler and other deck equipment are from Stálorka, and the hydraulic system on board is from Danfoss.
Arctic Machinery supplied the bleeding and chilling tanks, as well as the handling setup for by-catch and the bait handling tubs. The icemaker and pre-chiller are from Kæling hf.
The landing crane is a TMP unit supplied by Ásafl, who also supplied the engine, genset, thrusters and associated equipment.
There is a heated oilskin store at main deck level and the accommodation area in the bow includes a spacious mess area, a shower and toilet, a galley area and a washer and dryer, as well as six bunks in four cabins, all of which contributes to making Indriði Kristins suitable for working longer trips if required.
Sónar supplied the full suite of electronics, including a JLN-652 240kHz current log, JFC-180 four-frequency echo sounder, JLR-21 GPS compass and JLR-7600 GPS receiver from JRC, and the Olex plotter. Additional electronics are Raymarine and Sailor equipment.
