Icelandic boatbuilder Trefjar has delivered a new Cleopatra 33 to a fishermen working from La Turballe in the west of France.
Lauralex II has begun fishing, skippered by owner Alexis Baumal, working with a crew of three. The new boat is expected to work year-round from La Turballe.
The 11gt Lauralex II has a Cummins QSC8.3M main engine driving a ZF286IV gearbox, and the boat was fitted out at the yard in Icelandic with mainly Furuno and Simrad electronics.
The midships fishroom has capacity for twelve 380 litre tubs and Lauralex II is expected to operate mainly longlining for whitefish and potting for crab and lobster.
The wheelhouse is laid out with the control position on the starboard side and a mess area to port. The accommodation is fitted out with three berths and a well equipped galley.
