Fishing company Sverrisútgerðin, based in the west of Iceland, has taken delivery of a new Cleopatra 33 built by Trefjar.
The new Glaður SH-226 replaces an Cleopatra 31 that has served the owners well since 1999.
Skippered by Gísli Marteinsson, Glaður is outfitted for longlining, netting and jigging with DNG reels, and the 9.90-metre new boat has started fishing at the end of last year.
Glaður’s aft engine room houses the 550hp John Deere 6090 main engine, driving a ZF286IV transmission. The fishroom amidships has capacity for eight 660-litre tubs.
The forward section has bunks for two and a galley, while the wheelhouse is fitted with suspension seats for the skipper and crew. The electronics in the wheelhouse are mainly Furuno and MaxSea systems, plus the autopilot is linked to the hydraulically operated bow and stern thrusters.
