The organisers of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition to be held 13th-15th of September next year are already gearing up ahead of the event.
Icelandic fishing gear manufacturer Hampidjan is taking part in the Seafood Expo North America and Seafood Processing North America event taking place in Boston from the 6th to 8th of March, where the company will be presenting its activities and products.
A group in Iceland is planning to launch a new fishing industry exhibition this year, to be held at the Laugardalshöll sports and exhibition centre in Reykjavík 28th to 30th of September. Preparations have been underway for two years and companies of all sizes are ready to take part.
The fifteenth fish industry exhibition in Bremen is set to take place from Sunday 14th to Tuesday 16th of February and has grown this year to 270 exhibitors from 22 nations taking part in Messe Bremen.
‘For many filmmakers, fishermen are like sentinels or whistleblowers facing today’s challenges: climate change, conflicts and migrants, power and resources, threatened biodiversity, grabbing and privatisation of the oceans,’ said festival secretary Jacques Chérel.
This year’s Holland Fisheries Event is set to take place in Urk on the 7-8th of October, and the event has become a regular feature of the Dutch fishing industry.

Moves are being made towards the establishment of a new Regional Fisheries Management Organisation for the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, an area that is lacking an RFMO to co-ordinate fisheries research and management in spite of the importance of the region’s biodiversity and the values that fisheries add to the economies of the region’s coastal nations.
