The latest addition to the line of Carsoe products specifically for the seafood processing sector is the Product Compactor, designed to complement vertical plate freezers and to replace the time-consuming task of manually compacting shrimp into blocks.
Carsoe states that the automated process significantly increases block quality, emabling production to run continuously as the catch is processed quickly and consistently.
The consistent pressure of the Product Compactor offers optimised water content in each block, which is critical in achieving stronger and more uniform blocks.
Block quality is enhanced further by an adjustable pressure setting that ensures the precise amount of compression. In the initial compaction, the shrimps are compacted leaving room for a top-off with additional shrimp. A second press is then performed to achieve a fully compact block.
Carsoe believes the introduction of the Product Compactor will transform the onboard workspace for the better, reducing crew workload and enabling them to focus their efforts on other tasks such as loading and prepping freezers, to make the production process smoother.
