The longline sector is a new business for Danish processing systems supplier Carsoe, and an order to outfit the processing deck of the new Leinebris is taking the company into new territory – although not for sales manager Trond Bjørnøy, who is no stranger to the Norwegian longline sector.
The processing deck for Leinebris is designed with a flow of raw material through heading and gutting stations to the six V16 freezers. In addition the layout includes silage production and handling of by-products to ensure that all fish that come on board are fully utilised.
The high-capacity freezers are designed to make the fullest possible use fo the space available and the automatic bottom unloading reduces manual labour and streamlines the production flow. Carsoe is the exclusive manufacturer of the unloading system for the V16 freezer.
Frozen blocks discharged from the freezers are passed to automatic palletising and handling. This section of the factory has been designed with a cohesive palletising system including cargo elevators. This ensures an automated and continuous flow of full pallets to the cargo hold.
The integrated offloading elevators transport the palletised products from the fishroom, allowing discharging direct to the quayside with no need for cranes or additional manpower.
The new Leinebris vessel has been ordered from Tersan and is scheduled for delivery in 2025.
