Tromsø fishing company West Atlantic has taken delivery of a new Cleopatra 36B autoliner. The new boat has been built by Icelandic boatbuilder Trefjar, designed to comply Norwegian regulations.
The new Aksel B is a sister vessel to the Trånøy that West Atlantic took delivery of at the beginning of last year. The 18gt boat is a Cleopatra 36B with an overall length allowing it to fit into the under 11 metre fleet sector.
Aksel B has an after engine room with a 550hp Scania D13 main engine driving a ZF5001V gearbox and the boat is also fitted out with hydraulic bow thrusters linked to the autopilot to keep the boat more securely on course while hauling lines.The longline setup is a Mustad autoline system with a Mustad hauler, with additional equipment supplied by Stálorka in Iceland. There is a full fish handling system and the cooling system providing chilled seawater is from Kæling ehf.
The amidships fishroom twelve 660-litre and four 460 -litre tubs, or 29 460-litre tubs.
Accommodation is located forward with four bunks in the forepeak in two cabins. Additional facilities include a heated oilskin store, toilet, shower and fully-kitted out galley and mess area.
