Norwegian fishing company Hardhaus AS has placed an order for a new 69.99-metre pelagic vessel with a 15.50-metre moulded breadth to be built at the Karstensen yard in Skagen.
Expected to replace Talbor, the new vessel will have a Wártsilä propulsion package, with a 4640kW 8L32 main engine driving a 4500mm propeller, a trio of Caterpillar auxiliary engines, Brunvoll thrusters and a double 1300kW PTG RSW system.
The deck equipment installation for the combined pelagic trawler/purse seiner is to come from SeaQuest Systems.
The hull of the new vessel is scheduled to be delivered to the yard in Skagen in May 2026, with a completion and handover date in January 2027.
